Based on what?  What you read in the news?  Sheesh.  

The news leaves out 95 percent of the facts surrounding any case, 
not because The Media Is Evil, but simply because of limitations of 
space and time.

Every situation in life is filled with nuances.  It's difficult, if 
not impossible, for media reports to capture those nuances.  But 
understanding, or at least knowing about, those nuances is essential 
to fully understanding the situation.
