No, I wasn't a brain scientist but I was the assistant to 3 or 4 of them, depending on the year. I worked at MIT for 4 1/2 years. Now I work at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in research management, we process all the grants and contracts for the whole hospital. In my previous job I did all the administrative stuff for the profs (scientists), including grant submission, class preparation, faculty search, grading papers, ordering supplies, etc. The hippocampus is an important part of the brain's congitive processes or something likethat. I wanted to work at a university and I just ended up there. I don't really care all that much how the brain works, but the folks I worked for certainly did, so more power to them. They studied stuff like memory, language acquisition, vision, face recognition, and neuroscience on a cellular level, trying to understand neurons and plasticity and stuff like that. Most of it was over my head,or beyond the capacity of my brain, or whatever.
