Hard to remember now, but it had something to do with experiential 
learning/leadership (as in outdoor, Outward Bound types of stuff).  
The program had an excellent reputation, and I really was impressed by 
its director during my visit.  But I just couldn't stand the idea of 
living in Mankato.  My overall impression was that it was flat, gray, 
wet, disgusting, and ugly.  It couldn't compete with gorgeous Boulder.

Exactly.  All of my ideas about Minnesota had come from Garrison 
Keillor.  Was I ever disillusioned.
