Oh, and back to my brother for a sec; not only was the proposal not what she wanted, he didn't propose with the ACTUAL ring (the real, correct ring was being designed/ordered or something)

On a basic level, I do care about what ring I (eventually) receive...but honestly, he could propose to me with a twist-tie, and that would suffice.  These women (and of course, there are NO women like this on the WC group!) who will only accept a two-carat ring just seem crazy to me.  I am more concerned about design and style than I am about the stone itself.

Women just get so competitive, it seems, with the entire Wedding Industrial Complex and all that entails (ring, dress, honeymoon, how many attendants, etc etc infinity.

has anyone watched that Bridezilla show?  I caught part of one episode...it was just painful.

Okay, can someone explain to me the whole fascination with THE RING??  Maybe what I don't get is the whole surprising someone with something they may not like (Diane, your tale of bridezilla woe is a fantastic example of this!).
