I'll admit to partial ego-centric tendencies, but I've been pretty
good about seperating writing from the self. I write a lot too, though
not successful enough to get a book signing at Barnes and Nobel and a
chat on WaPo.com, but, enough to know that a story's voice is simply
originated from a thought, not always an environmental stimuli.

Now, if she writes a novel where the protagonist male is a 33 year old
dude who looks like Sean Astin and makes killer pho, then I'd be a
little concerned, sure.

However, I didn't go to the book signing. I think I went to a Thai
place in NoVA.
