It was actually in my recommendations list, which I almost never read,
presumably because I bought one of her books from Amazon previously.
You can't get away with anything on Amazon--every book you buy goes on
your PERMANENT RECORD! Wasn't that the scariest thing they said in
school? You know, this will be on your PERMANENT RECORD. I always
thought there was some record the college admissions people or future
employers could look at to see that I got a "needs work" in arithmetic
in 3rd grade and reject me. I wish they wouldn't scare little kids
like that. Or is there really a permanent record of all my report
cards since 1st grade?
