I thought about the publicity angle, but the reality is that there is no mention of the charity anywhere on the label, and the labels for more than one charity are identical. And even if you made the connection that kitties and puppies might symbolize an animal charity, you could just as easily order those the traditional way. The cystic fibrosis labels have roses because children apparently often mispronounce the disease as "65 roses". But again you could just as easily order labels with roses, so the recipient has no idea you are publicizing cystic fibrosis.
