Hey, I'd go to the store too...but can't really get there without a
plane.

Maybe not your parents, but the biggest growing demographic of people
diving into the internet (I read somewhere) is my contemporaries. Hey,
the kids never call and it's hard to get out any more. (Neither true
in my case, but the time's a-comin'.) My daughter (who does call a lot)
(cuz she lives next door and we live in the country and she doesn't
drive) got into the internet a lot the last few years, when she was
pretty much invalided by a back problem, and found not so much old
people but lots of people like her who are pretty housebound. Great
invention for them.

And I'm reminded that in my work (some of it paid! the federal prison
part) as a chaplain (alternative religion - neo-Pagan) I recently came
across somebody in a Retirement Home who's 80, who's just getting into
Wicca, taking music lessons, learning Spanish, and who does wonderful
paintings by computer (I have no clue as to how one does that).... and
all this after having recovered from a stroke. (It would be
inspirational, if it weren't daunting...)
