Hope you're all having fun. I'm in New Zealand, so we already had our new year's celebration. It's now 5:24pm on January 1. So strange to be a day ahead of the rest of the world.
So, I spent new year's in the very small town of Makarora, where there is only one pub and the whole town of about 50 came out to celebrate. We drank too much and did karaoke all night. Very fun, but I'm paying the price today. Now we're in Queenstown and I'm trying to decide whether to bungy jump, hang glide or do this new, very cool looking thing called fly by wire ( http://www.flybywire-queenstown.co.nz/) tomorrow. What do you think? Maybe I"ll have some good photos to share on bowling night. Already did a ton of great hiking (and some really shitty hiking through rivers, rain, snow and hail...and survied about eighty-seven sand fly bites) and did some heli-hiking yesterday on franz josef glacier. Oh, some kayaking and biking too. Love this country.
