my understanding is chutzpah is usually used to mean nerve/audacity/gall/balls, and I was told that cojones is sort of the Spanish equivalent. Although I think cojones literally means balls. Meaning, if you have the nerve to die the day after Christmas and ruin everyone's vacation, you're going to have to wait until after New Year's for your funeral.
