No, no, no backpedaling.  This is what you said in response to MY
remark that it was not feasible to rip up all those tracks:

it's not the tracks, it's the ditch between the tracks.  Didn't know
the word for it so tracks was the only thing I could think of.  I was
thinking they were going to require subway systems to have the ditch
between the tracks a certain depth, which they could conceivably do,
or something equally stupid.


If you were REALLY thinking only of new subway tracks, that's what you
would have said.  if.
