I realize I'm (mostly) preaching to the choir, but I have been a die-hard literally ROTFL fan of Dave Barry since I was about 15. I got my 1st book collection of his columns when I was about 19. When he said he was stopping the weekly columns I thought it meant he was retiring, but I now realize he just meant he was basically taking a different position--writing books and whatnot. I'm sure most people read this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/12/27/AR2006122701734.html or http://tinyurl.com/yyla3g
I just reread it tonight and it made me laugh out loud. Mr. Barry is a national treasure IMHO. I started reading Gene before I knew he knew Dave. Once I realized that he "discovered" Dave I was in awe. I think Dave provides an invaluable service to this country--he makes us laugh at ourselves, no easy task. Just thought I'd share that.
