Wow.

There are few things I'd wish on somebody I hate than to be stuck in 
downtown Des Moines without a car, circa 1998, let alone somebody 
who's a hot Weingarten Chatter. Hopefully 2007 will be better.

There's a decent, if not massive bus system. If you're at the 
Marriott, you can easily walk the three or four short blocks to the 
Court Avenue area, where Buzzard Billy's, Court Avenue Brewing and 
Judge Roy Bean's is, amongst others. Raccoon River's the same 
distance of a walk in the other direction, and 801 Steak And Chop is 
two blocks from the Marriott. 

Trust me on the food, though. The Iowan knows how to chow.
