>From an obituary for writer Madeleine L'Engle -

"The novel weaved together aspects of theology and quantum physics..."

No, it's not the theology or quantum physics I'm objecting to, but the
"weaved". It's supposed to be WOVE. I like the internal tense changes,
dammit. And they are disappearing...

P.S. to Ellen. Been busy for a while, so didn't get back to you about Value
Village. They are in existence on the west coast, anyway, so not just
Canadian (but are right across Canada). They are the Walmart, or Target, of
second-hand stores - a slick chain. They put some of our grungy thrift
shops out of business and got the others to spiff up (Sally Ann still seems
to be doing well). It's chain-store, mass-production (or induction) of 2nd
hand goods, in big bright department stores. I suspect very little goes to
the deserving, but they are irresistable... (I love going into a place and
saying to myself, I can buy anything in the joint. Not many stores I feel
like that. Being an inveterate 2nd-hand person, regular retail prices make
me swoon.)
