Barry Manilow was on Jimmy Kimmel tonight, singing other people's songs of the '70's. He's a great singer and all, but it's HIS songs that I love, not covers of other people's songs. I realize other people wrote many of the songs he sings, but he's the only one that sings them so they are his repertoire. I mean I love the songs of the '70's, don't get me wrong, but he's making millions off of just singing covers. I think it's lazy, personally, and I'm a huge Barry fan. It's almost like he gave up and said, why bother writing new songs or learning other people's new songs when I can just sing songs other people recorded first and save the trouble? Any other Barry fans with me on this, or am I overreacting (as usual)?
