Ok, here comes the trick...
Show your friends a glass of any liquid with an ice cube
floating in it and a piece of string with a small loop at
one end.
Their challenge, if they choose to accept it, is to remove
the ice cube from the glass of liquid without disturbing
the glass or touching the cube!
You let them try their theories and try not to look like a
know-all. When they let you have a go, lower the loop
onto the cube then sprinkle salt where the loop rests.
Wait a few seconds for the chemical reaction between
the salt and the ice, then raise the string and it will
easily bring the cube with it!
You have to use natural cotton cord, not synthetic, or
you will need real Magic to make it work! :-)

Protesters have put a coffin containing a man's body by
the gate of the Thai prime minister's office demanding an
investigation into his death. The campaigners blame the
death on a police beating. Protesters drove the coffin with
Suthisak Rimdusit's body to Bangkok by pickup truck after
parading it for several days around the town of Surat Thani.
A judge has evicted a tenant from a home he has not cleaned
in 14 years. The court in Belgium heard the floors of the house
were completely covered in rubbish more than a metre deep.
There were hundreds of empty bottles and half-empty food
cans, rotten food and dirty rags hanging from the ceiling.
A woman chased thieves who snatched her handbag for
a mile only days after finishing the London Marathon. The
thieves snatched Pamela McCarthy's handbag in Bath. The
40-year-old ran after them to a flat and called police. Officers
arrested the pair along with another person.
