LOOKING BACK AT TODAY.
In what was certainly a shift in tone, while he was pushing the stimulus with
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Obama reminded, particularly Republicans, that
he won the election. This is the first time, Obama has said so publicly. Last
week was a concerted outreach, but this week it's a little bit tougher line, in
addition to courting moderate Republicans. Also at the event, Obama announced
at $500,000 cap for executives who take bailout money.

As the Senate debates an economic stimulus plan whose price tag could come
close to $900 billion, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation -- a non-partisan group
created to bring awareness to the nation's rising spending and entitlement
costs -- is launching an ad campaign to urge the Obama White House and Congress
to address long-term fiscal challenges.

Can U.S.-Iran relations really hinge on badminton? Apparently so. The USA
Badminton team has been forced to cancel its trip to Iran because Iranian
officials did not issue the team visas in time for the tournament that begins
tomorrow. State Department officials are privately furious and said this could
have ramifications for the Obama administration's Iran policy review.

The House voted to delay the digital TV conversion to June 12th.

How damaged might New York Gov. David Paterson be after his handling of Hillary
Clinton's replacement.

And Terry McAuliffe was up with his second ad in his bid for Virginia governor.
Like his first one, it focuses on the economy.
