Dear LisAnne,
Today we are closer than we have ever been in our country's history to passing
national health reform.
As President Obama said in his speech last weekend, "We've never been this
close. We've never had such broad agreement on what needs to be done."
It's because we're this close that opponents of reform are getting nervous, and
are trying to slow our momentum. Unfortunately for them, their diversionary
tactics are not working. Our voices of reform are much stronger.

Nobody said that passing health reform would be easy. But we're not going to
back down from the challenge just because it's difficult. Health care is too
important not to fight for.
Americans can no longer afford soaring premiums, and we deserve security and
peace of mind when it comes to medical care. We should not be at the whim of
insurance companies that cherry pick their customers to save a dime.
