Apologies, I misunderstood your forum post.
Actually, Weld is correct, the spec says that for a producer getBeanClass()
must return the class of the declaring bean, not the return type of the
method/field.
You have no easy way to do this, but of course, for the example you show, you
could just use Object.class, and loose the validation that the type is correct.
