In ManagedBean.specialize there is the following bit of code:
if (environment.getClassBean(getWeldAnnotated().getWeldSuperclass()) ==
null)
{
throw new DefinitionException(SPECIALIZING_BEAN_MUST_EXTEND_A_BEAN,
this);
}
AbstractClassBean<?> specializedBean =
environment.getClassBean(getWeldAnnotated().getWeldSuperclass());
The problem is that environment will never contain beans from a different bean
archive, furthermore at this point in the deployment process not all beans are
deployed yet.
