You have a cyclic dependency where none of the involved beans is normal-scoped. Weld could either scan the dependency graph in advance and refuse to start the application or let it fail with StackOverflowException at runtime. Currently it does the latter. A workaround would be to make any of the injected beans normal-scoped.
