The application should still work in JDK 12 as in - you only get warning. In servlet and SE env. we are responsible for defining new classes and currently leverage CL access for it. Firstly, we would need multi release JAR since JDK 12 approach will not be available in JDK 8. Secondly, there was some catch last time I tried declaring classes via modules, I cannot remember what was that from the top of my head but we should re-try that approach some time before new Java releases turn these warnings into errors.
