News on the BBC that the express bus to the airport is to be
reviewed.

No suprise there, however some of the comments in the article appear a bit odd
however
with a conservative minister describing it as a "publicly funded ghost
train" which suggests he doesn’t understand what buses are, a local
resident saying that it's invariably empty except for the driver so, I assume,
there’s other buses services in the vale which
don’t even carry a driver and a 'transport expert'  quoted as saying that it's
needed to convince
airlines that there would be passengers available which suggests that airlines
run flights on spec and wait for bus passengers to turn up for them!
He also suggests it’s not possible to only cater for the
busy flights as the assets would only sit around not being used otherwise which
is somewhat of a simplification and, taken to an extreme, suggests that the WAG
will soon be demanding that every bus service (including schools) runs 24 hours
a day to make sure the assets are deployed properly!
