Surprisingly, whilst looking into the history of this bus, I’ve found you posted this to the earlier version of this group almost ten years ago and had a location then of M62 construction, Mirfield, 1971.
This makes sense as this vehicle was withdrawn by Thomas Bros in 1970. Thomas Bros bought eighteen Tiger Cubs in 1954, nine each with Weymann and Saunders-Roe bodies. Withdrawals started as early as 1965 but the last held on until after the South Wales takeover in 1971 and wasn’t withdrawn until 1972. Not surprisingly, many went for further service, often with independents local to Thomas Bros such as Llynfi of Maesteg and Cream Line of Tonmawr. There’s a photo of the same bus in Thomas Bros livery at www.sct61.org.uk/tmnny71.
