Hello Gianluca,
Gianluca Sforna a écrit :
All our modifications wouldn't interest the authors of the project
because they are sometimes hacks, sometimes diffs to work around the
project limitations (for example with curl, we added just one function
to be able to use curl with an already opened socket).
did you actually try to write a mail to the curl-library
mailing list?
Not yet, but we're working on this. We have isolated a patch. From now
on, we have to enhance it so that it is a good candidate to be
integrated to curl by its maintainers.
Please note, I am not here to tell you how to manage your project. I
am only trying to help identify issues that would prevent the
inclusion of this program in distros (and you have already a direct
interest from 2 of the major ones...)
Your work is really appreciated, and we see the integration of a
WengoPhone package into any major GNU/Linux distributions' package
system as a must. There is some significant work to be done before we
can achieve this, and we all use different words to describe this
situation :-).
There is no doubt that, whenever possible, we'll try to work with
projects' maintainers to submit patches upstream. We're glad that you
help us on this, and we welcome any idea that anyone may find relevant.
Thank you very much for your insightful suggestions.
All the best,
--
