I agree with your suggestion, and i modified the page accordingly. You

Also, not knowing the code, I had some difficulties finding the
current code and the directory in which to compile.
On the same wiki page (How to build WengoPhone Classic from Source), I
think you should add that the user needs to chnage directory to
openwengo/softphone-classic/trunk to compile the cvs version.
I've added a reference to it in the "Common Requirements" section, do
you think it is easy enough to find ?
