The instructions available on the Wiki are supposed to be generic, an should work for everyone running GNU/Linux. However, i agree that an HOWTO for each distro would be quite helpful. If anyone is willing to write such a document, i'll give him/her write access to the Wiki and we'll work toward the writing of a good quality document.

Well, I tried compiling the latest revision after installing
the package suggested by Hermann, but I'm still missing a
library - some "buildid". And with the instructions on the
site, I can't get much further. Anyone care to give a push?
