I am not sure about the current status of the OSX port, but bugs will be there whatever platform you use. I think the point is where you actually feel more confortable working. For me this is GNU/Linux (in particular Fedora), but of course everyone on the list will have it's own opinion. I would only avoid WIN32 as a developing platform, at least if you don't like self inflicted pain...
