Hi all,

I would like to apply for some Openwengo projects for the Google Summer
of Code this year. To do that well, I need ideas for projects, and
potential mentors.

Being a mentor is pretty straightforward - you are the first line of
attack for a new student, the person who shows them around when they
arrive, and gives them a little helping hand when they need it. The idea
of the Summer of Code is not just that the student accomplish their
goal, but that at the end of the Summer, they feel part of the
community. Around 40% of all GSoC students continue working on their
project after the Summer of Code has finished.

So - here's what I'm looking for - between 4 and 6 people who are
prepared to mentor Google Summer of Code projects, and between 6 and 10
project ideas which we can draft in the wiki. I've started a page with
some initial off-the-top-of-my-head ideas in
http://dev.openwengo.com/trac/openwengo/trac.cgi/wiki/GoogleSummerOfCode

Please mail me off-list if you're interested in mentoring - I will be
making up a team this week, and applying for OpenWengo's inclusion in
the project as soon as applications open. And please feel free to
add/modify/comment on proposals for projects.

Thanks!
Dave.
