Hi all,
Some news about CoIpManager and its children.
Thanks to Ovidiu Ciule, who's following an internship in OpenWengo,
the Python binding above CoIpManager is complete (but still needs test).
Ovidiu created a script that automatically generates .sip files used
by SIP (http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/sip/) to generate the
binding. Some classes still need to be defined manually but this is a
great step. Thank you Ovidiu.
A test application is already using this binding : PyWengoCall.
PyWengoCall is a WengoCall python port, a simple test application to
test call feature of CoIpManager. Currently you can connect with a
Wengo or a Sip account and call with both. Note that PyWengoCall and
WengoCall can not receive calls for now (some work is needed at UI
level).
PyWengoCall is available to download here :

Mac Intel : http://download.wengo.com/nightlybuilds/playground/

Linux x86 : http://download.wengo.com/nightlybuilds/playground/

Packages may miss some files. Feel free to report problems. There are
known on Windows and Mac: application crashes at exit.
CoIpManager 0.2 is currently in development but one of its new
features is a new connection state machine.
With this new state machine, connection of Sip accounts is much
faster than on WengoPhone 2.x and Gaim (yes we're still using
Gaim...) accounts can connect with normal connection mode (WengoPhone
2.x forces alternate connection mode to ensure connection through
NAT, but this can give some problems, e.g. this week Microsoft worked
on its MSN HTTP proxy server and no Gaim/Pidgin based application
could connect through the HTTP proxy).
However Gaim support needs work to be complete:
- Gaim must be updated to Pidgin
- CoIpManager Gaim plugins must be updated to put Gaim method calls
in Gaim event loop (done in WengoPhone 2.x but not on CoIpManager)
That's all for now. More news later.
Regards
