Basically, the alfa does not seem to be  that stable. I've had 
other basic problems on Fedora/386 (no sound, crashes) both 
with the "official" binary version and the packaged one. I 
guess this is the time to file bugs and/or communicate with the 
developers here or on IRC. (I've filed two bugs, and a bogus 
one about permissions).

During the weekend I've updated the build process, I now think 
it's using the same flags as the official build process. I've 
also fixed the Fedora ldconfig issue. New versions will be 
available every morning. Hopefully they'll become better over 
time.
