I put up a patch[1] on the wiki[2]some time ago, but never mentioned
anything here.  It was ugly and stupid.  Today I took some time to
make it less ugly...  I post hoping to get some perspective on a
smarter solution.  I don't like assuming that each paragraph will be
on a single line, however I can't come up with a clever way of
catching a double newline.  I would also prefer to specify the number
of paragraphs to keep

For instance, if I want to display two paragraphs from each entry on
the main page I would set conf_max_lines_per_post=2.  As this patch
stands, you need to account for all the lines taken up by the heading
and blank lines between paragraphs.

Surely it is my understanding of rc that limits me.
