I have been spending more quality time with Go recently and having a lot of fun doing so. The first project I set out for myself was to build a simple web server to interpret some markdown files and use Go's template engine. I've learned a lot in doing so and have come to realize that what I really want is a Go app that behaves as much like werc as possible. I went to bed thinking about this last night and woke up this morning wanting this even more.
I post to the list to inquire about the interest in such a project from the werc community. If such a project already exists, I am unaware of it and would be interested to contribute. Finally, if such a project seems like a waste of time and these efforts might be better used elsewhere, I am open to suggestions. Personally, I don't know if the fruits of such a project would be any more efficient or better suited for what werc is currently used. I just think it would be fun to work on and a good way to get more familiar with the Go programming language. I'm not particularly proud of the current bit of code I have, but if there is some interest I will hack something together and put it up on bitbucket or something.
