Details:
Hello.
I like the visual sorting of friends and ignored's on the MP server.
1. I'd like to request a third category still, for people who've truly done
something offending, like cheated, edited their scenario files to confuse
players in games they host, or somesuch.
My reasoning: I can choose to "ignore" someone who just babbles too much, or
who just constantly plays different types of games than what I do. But I
wouldn't want to lump them together with "thieves and murderers", if you see
my point.
So, there would be three categories: the good (friends), the bad (cheaters
etc.), and "the ugly" ;-) (ignored), so to speak.
That's my main request, but I'll throw in two more minor ones for you to
consider.
2. Actually, sometimes in-game my "friends" just babble a lot, e.g. chat with
observers, which may distract my playing, so sometimes I feel compelled to
_temporarily_ put them on the ignores list. (They usually talk their stuff in
half an hour, after which I can safely remove them from ignores. ;-)
So I wouldn't mind if the ignores list wasn't "alternative" with the friends
or the foes lists, but "additional", and if there was a quick way (shorter
commands than currently*) to temporarily ignore someone, which wouldn't
remove them from the friends list.
So, in sum, you could have people on either [friends OR foes] list AND
additionally on [ignores] list.
(* The shortcuts could be "/good", "/bad" and "/ugly", which would either
remove or add the name specified, depending on if it's already there or not.
(These are just suggestions, and if you think "ugly" is offending and "good"
and "bad" have an unwanted connotation to playing skills, I'd be happy with
any clear alternatives you can come up with. For "/ugly", even a simple
"/ignore" instead of "/list addignore" (IIRC) would do.)
3. Please (_pretty please_) use the _green arrow_ also for friends, i.e. the
same symbol that is used for "myself". It is aesthetically _much_ more
pleasing than the (IMO horrible) red exclamation mark. (Sure, I can always do
this myself by copying the file over, but I think this would be better
overall.)
