Follow-up Comment #2, bug #9663 (project wesnoth):
I don't see at all how "The player is still in control of that side."
If you could :undroid, that would be another matter, but you can't. Neither
can you :control N yourself, after :droiding your side (you get no response).
Neither can the host (the host gets "already controlled by a player).
Something clearly isn't working as could be expected.
My idea of :droid would be that it would switch the player to observer,
completely.
The other option is that it only makes the AI play for the player. If so,
there are two issues with this, that should be fixed:
- This should be reversible.
- The player should still be able to chat (and team chat) as a player.
In other words, please re-open this report, so that this issue can be fixed,
one way or another.
