Details:
This bug has been confirmed by me in 1.2.4, 1.2.5, 1.3.2 and 1.3.7. I
replayed the entire campaign in 1.3.2 and 1.3.7 but the bug still exists.
According to the forums, it is in 1.2.6 as well, it might be in versions
before 1.2.4, too, but I haven't checked for that. Linux as well as Windows
and Mac is affected.
As soon as you finish the "Choice in the Fog" scenario and move on to
"Tidings, Good and Ill", the game will duplicate the units in your recall
list whenever you save the game, although you won't notice it before the
"Into the Depths" because you can't recall troops in "Tidings, Good and Ill".
Even unique heroes like Minister Hylas or Ethiliel will get duplicated in the
recall list. This behavior continues for the subsequent missions as well. It
can easily be observed by loading a game, saving it under a different file
name, loading that new save again, saving it again, etc., and comparing the
file sizes: they are growing fast.

Attached is a savegame from the 1.3.7 version. Finish the scenario and
observe the growing save games in the following scenario.
