Follow-up Comment #3:
I'm closing this "bug" and changing it to invalid.
The problem wasn't related to the animation at all (which was working), but
due to the fact that I forgot to remove the old [item] image placed at the
location of these animated terrains.
So it was just the [item] placed on top of the animation which caused this
effect... an oversight by me. :)
