Follow-up Comment #1:
I don't have gcc 4.3 so can't test but I think the
+extern "C" {
+#include <limits.h> // for INT_MAX
+}
can be replaced with
#include <climits>
I'll contact the arklinux packager to verify, if somebody has gcc 4.3 feel
free to test and commit.
