Details:
Many units seem get their attack animations corrupted. Sometimes the ranged
and melee animations switch back and forth during an attack, seemingly at
random. The other problem is a missing ranged animation. (I've never seen a
missing melee animation.) The sound is affected along with the graphics. I've
noticed this with an assassin, an elvish shaman, and a goblin spearman, among
others. I've seen it in many campaigns. As soon as it happens once, it seems
to happen every time with that unit.
For an example, try the attached file. Move the dwarvish pathfinder near the
middle of the map down to attach the troll shaman. (Not because it's a good
move, of course!) Use either ranged or melee, and the animations switch back
and forth. Try a ranged attack with the nearby desert prowler, and no
animation plays.
I'm using openSUSE 10.3 64bit
BfW built from source. I also removed all user data and preferences to make
sure it was clean.
gcc version: 4.2.1
SDL version: 1.2.12-26
SDL_image version: 1.2.6-25
(This issue is not new for this release. It's existed for a while.)
