Follow-up Comment #1, bug #11297 (project wesnoth):

i disagree. to increase the HP limit of a NPh that much, you'd have to use it
to kill a couple of tenths of units, which would rob all your other units of
valuable field experience. and what good is a single buffed unit against the
entire army? even 100HP NPh aren't invincible. besides, buffing a unit like
that is IMO not possible at hard difficulties, when the turn limit and enemy
strenght doesn't allow to concentrate solely on this task; another thing, is
that there's no healer in basic necro leader recruitment list, so keeping a
NPh alive for that long is a matter of extreme luck (i remind you, that they
have NO ranged attack, and therefore are very susceptible to mage/archer
attacks).

anyway, setting the hard limit at 2x base HP wouldn't be a bad idea, just for
the sake of the game logic - however i LIKE the idea of a nasty 'phage bloated
with dead bodies of his enemies.

btw, there's a custom Ghoul lev 3 unit, called Ghast AFAIR, so maybe setting
it as an advancement and using his HPx2 as a hard coded limit would be an
answer to this problem?
