Follow-up Comment #6, patch #1046 (project wesnoth):
So I had changed the ids to use a counter. But then you have the problem that
you must save that counter value when the game is saved, otherwise you will
get id clashes after loading. So, for now, I went back to the random
padding.
This patch just adds some comments, and other little things.
Also adds a find(std::string) to look up by underlying_id.
