Originally submitted from my wife's machine, where the crash occurred.
I had titled this "Wesnoth crashes with failed assertion when NLS catalog
installation is disabled", but further tests show that installing the NLS
tools and rebuilding from scratch does not fix the problem.
It seems generate_report() is being called with an invalid argument. the "no
location found" log message seems irrelevant.
To reproduce, start any campaign. Skip to the end of the narrative; it will
crash while generating the first map screen.
