Follow-up Comment #1:
We're moving away from trying to catch all WML error and ill-formedness
conditions gracefully in the C++, because that requires a lot of complicated
guard code that reduces the maintainability of the whole game.
Instead, you should run wmllint against your stuff before running the game on
it. wmllint is specifically intended to catch typos and errors of this
general kind, and I believe it would flag this particular one.
If wmllint does not do so, please file a bug on that.
