I tried to reproduce the problem, but haven't been able to do so.
Which version of g++ and python do you use?
I tried with gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1) and the -Weffc++ flag which
normally shows this kind of error.
I use Python 2.5.2.
