Update of bug #12789 (project wesnoth):
Status: None => Wont Fix
Open/Closed: Open => Closed

Follow-up Comment #1:
I doubt any of the other developers will disagree when I say that it won't be
done. It's been discussed on the forums before, and the conclusion has always
been that we'll rather leave the choice to the player.
Also, considering that we have autosaves every turn, limiting how many times
you may save wouldn't really work. You'd have to limit the number of times
you may load the game, instead. And considering how some scenarios can really
take a long time to play through, it'd be rather annoying if saving and
quitting the game and loading it the next day would cost you a load point.
And if it wouldn't, then the player could just close the entire game and
start it up again in order to load as many times as he wants.
Due to how the rather open architecture of savefiles and whatnot works, a
system which tracks and prevents saveloading in a sufficiently intelligent
manner would most likely be complicated enough to write and maintain that no
one would really want to do it anyway. And even then, we'd absolutely need a
way for the player to simply turn it off, so anyone who'd really want to
saveload a lot could and would still do it.
