I don't think the bug is related to bug #12522.
Pietro, can you test again when 1.5.7 is released? I fixed some bugs in the
code, which don't happen with recent gcc's but probably happened with sun os.
(The same cause why text.cpp did compile on gcc, but not on sun os.)
