Whoa. I figured out how to reproduce this and got numerous assertions :(
My configuration specific is that I own Logitech LX-5 mouse. Except usual
buttons it also capable of horizontal scrolling by pushing wheel left and
right and current Ubuntu version supports this feature. Actually, this
scrolling treated as two extra mouse buttons and applications are using it
for horizontal scrolling. This also works for BfW as well. and using these
scroll-wheel features to scroll map left and right is convenient.
Assertion occurs when there should appear some dialog with speech and
portrait and horizontal scrolling is used at this moment. Then when I'm
clicking such extra button (i.e. pushing scroll wheel left or right) and at
this moment dialog appears, game crashes.
Note: you may have troubles reproducing this bug as long as you do not have
such configuration since usual mouse lacks extra buttons (horizontal
scrolling implemented as 2 extra mouse buttons) and clicking other buttons
does not causes problems.
