Update of bug #13258 (project wesnoth):

                  Status:                    None => Need Info

Follow-up Comment #1:

Hmm, this one is *really* problematic. That is:
1) At least in my version of glibc (version currently included in gentoo
unstable: glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2), the locale is not included. That is *no*
locale starting with 'eo' is included at all (yes, I build all locales as
testcase for wesnoth)...
2) The split into eo_COUNTRYCODE has a specific reason: in the locale there
is also stuff like date format (used in Wesnoth for the load dialog!)
encoded. Thus locales without a two latter country code are in theory
invalid. No idea if switching the locale to 'eo' would work at all...

Basically we rely (at least on Linux) on the data provided by locales in the
system. Since esperanto seems to not have a default langcode in glibc this is
a really problematic case. It would be nice to at least get a list of "what is
really used". Those can then maybe added in an alias section, like it is done
for de_DE with eg de_AT and de_CH. But to do so, such a list is needed first.
So what are the possible versions (patched) glibc versions might provide? I
know that once eo_XX was provided. Which other ones?
