Details:

In a local multiplayer game (wesnoth --nosound -m) I pressed f and ran the
following:

 calculate_outcome(loc(22,10),loc(21,15),loc(21,14))

22,10 was indeed the location of a unit of mine that could move to 21,15 in
one turn and attack an enemy at 21,14. Wesnoth crashed and printed the
following to the console:

wesnoth: /home/chris/wesnoth/src/unit_map.hpp:113: typename
iter_types::pointer_type unit_map::iterator_base<iter_policy,
iter_types>::operator->() const [with iter_policy = unit_map::unit_policy,
iter_types = unit_map::const_iter_types]: Assertion `policy_.valid(i_, map_)'
failed.
Aborted
