Follow-up Comment #1, bug #13429 (project wesnoth):
I believe I'm having the same or similar issue - in The South Guard campaign,
both Deoran and Sir Gerrick sometimes become invisible if I save at the start
of a level and then restart from the save. Neither quitting and restarting
the game nor reinstalling it works to fix this. I've attached a save that
shows the issue.
